Biography:
Dr. Esmeralda Valiente received her PhD degree from University of Valencia, Spain in 2008. Her PhD was awarded the prize for the best PhD in Microbiology at University of Valencia. After that, she moved to London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), London, UK to work as a European Marie Curie Postdoctoral Fellow and after several years she was promoted to Assistant Professor in 2014. In 2020, she moved to the National Metrology Institute of Germany, where she was promoted to Group Leader in nucleic acid metrology. Dr. Valiente is specialized in the application of nucleic acid measurements in clinical diagnostics and emerging pandemic threats.
