Biography:

Dr. Matei obtained her Doctorate from the University of Toronto, Canada and went on to complete a postdoctoral fellowship in the laboratory of Dr. David Lyden at Weill Cornell Medicine in New York City, She then joined the faculty at Weill Cornell Medicine as an Assistant Professor in 2018, where she studies cancer metastasis and intercellular communication between systems and organs at homeostasis and during disease progression. She has published more than 45 research articles in peer-reviewed journals.
