Biography:
Dr. Mauro studied Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Technology at the University of Palermo, Italy, and graduated as MS summa cum laude in 2008. He then joined the research groups of Prof. Ferruti at the Department of Organic Chemistry of the University of Milan. He received his PhD degree in Biomaterials in 2013 at the University of Pisa. After many postdoctoral fellowship throughout the world, he gained the Fondazione Umberto Venoresi Fellowship from 2018 to 2020 at the University of Palermo, where he developed novel nanosystems for precise theranostic applications. Here, he obtained the position of Assistant Professor. He has published more than 45 research articles in SCI journals and is author of three patents.
