Biography:
Dr Fairooza Alam is an EPSRC Doctoral Prize Fellow at The Open University, specialising in biophysical modelling and tissue engineering. Her research focuses on developing predictive computational frameworks to guide cell organisation in engineered tissues, with applications in cultivated meat and regenerative medicine. She completed her PhD in Biochemical Engineering at University College London, where she developed mechanistic models for cellular systems. Her work combines mathematical modelling with experimental validation, including stem cell culture and scaffold design. Dr Alam’s interdisciplinary expertise bridges theory and experiment to advance scalable, physics-based solutions in bioengineering.
