Biography:
Katarzyna Gawron, Ph.D., DSc., professor of Medical University of Silesia, Katowice, scientist, lecturer, supervisor of master, and Ph.D. students, laboratory diagnostician. She graduated in 2000 from the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Medical University of Silesia. In 2007 defended Ph.D. thesis, completed a 2-years post-doc fellowship (2007-2009) at TJU, Philadelphia, USA, 6-years post-doc training at Jagiellonian University, Krakow and held the assistant professor position (2016-2019). Since 2020 employed at Medical University of Silesia in Katowice. Her research interest includes molecular mechanisms and new approaches to therapy of hereditary and infectious diseases of connective tissues associated with bone abnormalities, resorption and inflammation.
