Paulo Cesar De Morais, Speaker at Oncology Conferences
Catholic University of Brasilia, Brazil

Abstract:

In this keynote lecture, exotic nanomagnetic materials (magnetic nanorings - MNRs) will be introduced as a very promising material for application in magnetic hyperthermia (MHT), an advanced cancer therapeutic modality. The chemical synthesis and the characterization of the MNRs will be presented and discussed in this Keynote Talk. Moreover, the data regarding the MHT tests performed with this new magnetic nanomaterial will be presented and discussed. Temperature (T) versus AC magnetic field application time (t) will be explored within the recently-proposed mathematical explanation for the so-called Box Lucas phenomenological approach. For the preliminary MHT tests, the T versus t data were collected at the AC operating frequency of 330 kHz and magnetic field amplitude in the range of 100 Oe to 240 Oe.
