Title : Development and application of non-human primate models of mental disorders

Abstract:

Non-human primate models play an important role in the research of CNS diseases. However, compared to neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson's and Alzheimer's, their application in drug development for mental disorders is relatively limited. From a clinical perspective, it is difficult to simulate mental disorders using animal models, and the modeling of mental disorders itself is challenging, time-consuming, and requires high technical expertise. Nevertheless, there is a significant demand for non-human primate models of mental disorders in the development of drugs and intervention methods. Our team is dedicated to establishing stable non-human primate models of mental disorders, providing essential support for the study of brain mechanisms and the development of therapeutic intervention strategies. We have already established relatively stable models of depression, drug addiction, Parkinson's disease, and other non-human primate behavioral models, and are currently developing models for schizophrenia, anxiety, and sleep disorders. We hope to contribute to the safety and efficacy evaluation of new drugs and medical devices in the future.
