Title : Alveolar bone modeling observed in response to treatment with SLB (Damon System) and early light elastic of patients with skeletal open bite malocclusion

Abstract:

This retrospective cephalometric study was performed on a sample of 20 patients with a skeletal Open bite malocclusion. 11 males, 9 females, age 12.5 +/- 1.7 years) treated with early light elastic protocol and Damon system. The cephalometric analysis was performed at the beginning (T1) and the end of the orthodontic therapy (T2). Angular and linear cephalometric variables were blindly measured by one investigator and repeated after 6 weeks. An error measurement (Dahlberg’s formula) study was performed to evaluate the intra-examiner reliability. A paired-sample t test (p < 0.05) was used to compare each variable from T1 to T2.

Biography:

He completed his PhD in Orthodontics at FSU, Germany, in 1989. He is a member of the German Orthodontic Society (1991 – present) and has professional experience as a staff member in the Orthodontics Departments at Tishreen University in Latakia, Syria, from 1990 to 1995. He holds the position of Tenured Professor of Orthodontics at Tishreen University in Latakia, Syria, since 2001. Currently, he is running a private practice in Kaiserslautern, Germany, since 2010. He is skilled in using the Self-ligation Damon system. Furthermore, he has authored 5 books in the field of dentistry and orthodontics and has delivered national and international lectures on various aspects of orthodontics as a speaker.
