Biography:
Dr. Spyros Varthis, DDS, MS, MPhil, PhD, is a surgically trained Prosthodontist and Oral Implantologist with extensive experience in implant surgery, prosthetic rehabilitation, and reconstructive dentistry. He completed his Prosthodontics residency and Master of Science degree at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine, followed by a two-year General Practice Residency at Columbia University Presbyterian Hospital. He also holds an MPhil and a PhD in Science Education from Columbia University. Dr. Varthis has served as a full-time Clinical Professor in the Department of Prosthodontics at New York University College of Dentistry. He has also conducted research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and treated medically compromised patients at New York-Presbyterian Hospital. He has published in leading journals including the International Journal of Oral & Maxillofacial Implants, Journal of Prosthodontics, Journal of Oral Oncology, Journal of Cranio-Maxillo-facial Surgery, and European Journal of Dental Education. His private practice in New York City is limited to Prosthodontics and Implantology, with emphasis on esthetic, implant, and reconstructive care.
