Ahmed Mohamed Mehaney

Biography:

Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Mehaney is a lecturer of physics at the Department of physics, faculty of Science at Beni-Suef University. He received a BS degree from Beni-Suef University (2008) and MS degrees from Beni-Suef University (2013). In 2017, he received a PhD degree from Beni-Suef University. (h-index : 19), Citations (888).

Dr. Mehaney’s research focuses on the dynamics of materials and structures, especially phononic crystals and locally resonant phononic Metamaterials, at both the continuum and atomistic scales. His approach to phononics is rather broad ranging from vibrations isolation structures in lattice dynamics, sensors, energy harvesting structures as well as photonic crystals and Metamaterials. His studies are concerned with physical phenomena governing these systems, relevant theoretical and computational treatments, and analysis of the effects of dispersion, resonance, dissipation and nonlinearity. Recently he has also been conducting experiments to support portions of the theoretical work. In 2013 he received the best Master thesis Award form Beni-Suef University. Dr. Mehaney has served as an editor and referee for many journals such as the American Journal of Mechanical and Materials Engineering, Annals of Biostatistics & Biometric Applications, International Journal of Physics Research and Applications, Beni-Suef university journal of basic and applied sciences and the Journal of Computational Systems Biology (JCSB). He is as an author of a chapter entitle Phononic crystals and thermal effects in a book entitled Photonic Crystals-A Glimpse of the Current Research Trends at IntechOpen. During his PhD he published five papers, and since 2012 so far he published 66 papers in archival journals such as Journal of Applied Physics, Scientific Reports, Ultrasonics, physica E and ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces. Dr. Mehaney has served as an editor for the Annals of Biostatistics & Biometric Applications, International Journal of Physics Research and Applications, Beni-Suef university journal of basic and applied sciences and a referee for many high quality impacted journals such as Nanotechnology, ACS Materials& Interfaces, Journal of applied physics, Ultrasonics, Journal of physics D-applied physics, Scientific reports.
