Biography:
Joseph Install is a 3rd year PhD student under the supervision of Professor Timo Repo at the University of Helsinki. After obtaining his MChem (combined masters) degree from the University of York in 2021, he began his research focus on upgrading of waste from many sources. Predominantly carbohydrate waste sources where the focus has been dehydrations and oxidations of monosaccharides to platform molecules. Further research interests include the recovery of precious metals from waste electronics using green and selective processes using ionic solutions and organic acids. He currently has 6 published articles in the mentioned research areas.
