Biography:
Prof. Dr. Saktioto, S.Si M.Phil, is a Professor of Physics at Department of Physics, Math and Natural Sciences Faculty, University of Riau, Indonesia. He completed his Degree (SSi) in Physics at University of Riau in 1993, Master degree (MPhil) in Plasma Physics at University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST) Manchester, United Kingdom in 2000 and Doctoral degree in Photonic Physics (Doctor) at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Johor Malaysia in 2009. He is also an active member in IEEE, OSA, AMC, PSI, SPIE and IOP. He has published many articles and supervised master and doctoral students. Currently, his research focus is photonics such as fiber optic components, network and system for communication, antennas and biosensors of metamaterials. His research also designs and operates circuits and waveguides to generate plasma by electrical discharge and microwave in industrial application at atmospheric air pressure.
