Abstract:
This study presents a novel electron acceleration method by combining Bessel beams, generated from an axicon lens, with an externally applied wiggler magnetic field. Bessel beams are particularly suited for charged particle manipulation due to their non-diffracting nature, maintaining stability over long distances. The axicon lens transforms a standard Gaussian beam into a Bessel beam with a bright central core and concentric rings, enhancing electron interaction. Zeroth-order Bessel beams, with lower divergence and stronger focusing properties, are especially effective for electron acceleration. By integrating these beams with the oscillating effects of the wiggler magnetic field, this approach significantly enhances the focusing power, leading to improved acceleration rates. The findings demonstrate that this combined system outperforms traditional methods, offering potential advancements in fields such as particle physics, medical treatments, and advanced manufacturing.
