Co-Director for Nephrology and Hemodialysis from 1990 at the Same Division of Nephrology. From January 1992 to the present day; Coordinator of the of Clinical Chemistry Laboratory; Service of the Division of Nephrology and Dialysis in the same period.

Prof. Dr. Andrea Maier-Nöth holds a professorship at the University of Applied Sciences in Albstadt-Sigmaringen, Germany, is a scientific consultant in the field of health psychology and nutrition for children and the author of many scientific publications, specialist journals and books. The focus of her expertise is the topic of “Shaping a healthy and sustainable eating culture”. The scientist has spent many years working intensively in the field of development of early healthy food preferences in children - in particular its influence on long-term healthy eating behavior. As Managing Director of Eat-Health-Pleasure GmbH and croomel GbR, Prof. Dr. Maier-Nöth develops preventive nutrition concepts to promote the health of pregnant women and young children into adulthood.

Ms. Maier-Nöth holds a doctorate in health psychology and nutritional sciences and a bachelor's and master's degree in food technology and nutritional sciences. She is an internationally active expert in the field of child nutrition with a special focus on a holistic approach - i.e. physiological, psychological and socio-cultural aspects. She advises universities, public institutions and food manufacturers and is involved as a speaker and lecturer at congresses and training events on the subject of health, prevention and nutrition. She also lectures as a visiting professor at universities in Switzerland and Germany. Sara Damiano, an Associate Professor of Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology at the University of Naples Federico II since 2022. A biotechnologist (2005) with a PhD in Nephrological Sciences (2010), she is skilled in renal microsurgery and molecular biology. She also earned a Level II Master in Veterinary Phytotherapy (2024), the National Scientific Qualification as Full Professor (2023), and a specialization in laboratory animal science (2009). Her scientific output includes numerous international publications and conference contributions. Her research focuses on environmental contaminants, innovative anticancer therapies, diabetic nephropathy, immunosuppressant‑induced nephrotoxicity, and essential hypertension in animal models.

Biography:

Arianna Mazzoli is an Associate Professor in Physiology at the University of Naples Federico II, Department of Biology. Her research focuses on the regulation of energy balance and the metabolic adaptations of the whole organism and individual tissues in response to dietary and environmental stimuli. In particular, she investigates the mechanisms underlying obesity, insulin resistance, and metabolic syndrome using animal models, with emphasis on mitochondrial function, oxidative stress, and systemic metabolism. Her work also explores the interplay between nutrition, microbiota, and physiological adaptation, contributing to the understanding of metabolic resilience in both pathological and extreme conditions.

Prof. (Dr.) Sankar Kr Acharya, He was the former Head, Dept. of Agril. Extension and Director, Extension Education, Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya, Mohanpur, WB, born on 6th October, 1960, started his career as Assistant Professor at BCKV in 1988 and has been in teaching, research and extension more than 37 years. An erudite teacher as well as an elegant speaker, is internationally acclaimed for his unique research domain of Social Entropy and Energy Metabolism, Social Ecology and Environmental Sociology, Enterprise Ecology Framework, Conservation Stewardships: Research Publication: 261 in National and International Journals. Book Publication: 132 books authored. So far, he has delivered 49 keynote addresses and chaired 57 sessions in National and International congresses.

Biography:

Thomas de Hoop directs a research and evaluation portfolio with a focus on the impact, scalability, and cost-effectiveness of self-help groups, savings groups, and education innovations in South Asia and sub-Saharan Africa. He is currently the co-principal investigator for the Evidence Consortium on Women’s Groups, a four-year research project that focuses on synthesizing, strengthening, and disseminating research on the impact and cost-effectiveness of large-scale government-supported women’s groups. As part of the ECWG, Dr. de Hoop leads or co-leads studies on the impact of COVID-19 on the functioning of women’s groups and how self-help groups in India and savings groups in Nigeria and Uganda contribute to mitigating the economic consequences of COVID-19. In addition, he oversees various evidence syntheses, experimental and quasi-experimental studies, and cost-effectiveness analyses on women’s groups. This research guides the Gender Equality team at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation in the use of evidence to inform the Foundation’s gender equality strategy.

Dr. de Hoop is also the principal or co-principal investigator for a five-year cluster-randomized controlled trial of a technology-aided instruction program in Zambia, a three-year quasi-experimental study on the impact of a World Bank-funded and government-supported women’s group program in Nigeria, the development of a typology for a handbook on the implementation of self-help groups in South Asia, and a social impact assessment of an organic cotton farming project in India. In addition to designing these studies, he trains and manages teams of researchers, closely engages with funders, governments, foundations, and non-governmental organizations, analyzes data, and authors briefs, reports, and peer-reviewed papers.

Graduated in Medicine from the Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro (1980), Master's degree in Clinical Medicine from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1988), Habilitation in Clinical Medicine from Gama Filho University and Doctorate in Clinical Medicine from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1997). Specialist in Nutrition by the Brazilian Association of Nutrition (ABRAN) and the Brazilian Medical Association (ABM), registered with the Regional Council of Medicine of Rio de Janeiro (CREMERJ) in 2011. Postgraduate degree in Medical Thermography from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of São Paulo (2013). Currently, he is an associate professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, a physician at the National Institute of Medical Assistance of Social Security, a collaborating member of the Brazilian College of Surgeons (TcCBC), a member of the Technical Chambers of Clinical Medicine and Nutrition of CREMERJ, and Coordinator of the Commission for Evaluation and Enteral and Parenteral Nutritional Therapy (CATNEP) of HUCFF/UFRJ. He has experience in the field of Medicine, with an emphasis on Clinical Medicine (Medical Semiology), mainly working on the following topics: Nutritional semiology, malnutrition, enteral and parenteral nutritional therapy, metabolic syndrome, interpretation of laboratory tests for nutritional prescription, and hypoalbuminemia. After retiring from CSIR-CFTRI as Chief Scientist during 2013, worked as an Emeritus Medical Scientist (ICMR) at University of Mysore and served as a Professor, under DBT sponsored Food Science Project, Gauhati University, Gauhati, Assam till April, 2021. Published ~ 85 research papers, inventor of several food technology processes, one Patent was commercialized to 30 industries. Handled several National & International projects. Guided 90-95 B.Tech, M.Tech, MSc Food Technology, Food Science and Nutrition, students for their Dissertation and Investigation problems and produced 8 Ph.D candidates, including an INSA Fellow; African UFU Fellows. Faculty member and Course Co-ordinator of MSc Food Technology, HRD courses of CFTRI. Recipient of several awards, delivered several invited lectures, and member of societies, and presented 70-80 posters at National & International level. Assoc. Prof. Yasin Özdemir is an expert in food technology and food science, with a primary focus on fruit and vegetable processing, table olives, olive oil, plant-based foods, and the development of environmentally friendly production techniques. His research integrates product quality, process optimization, and sustainability principles in food systems. He serves as a scientific and editorial board member and reviewer for various international journals and congresses in food and nutrition sciences. He has authored and co-authored more than 100 scientific publications presented at international congresses and published in peer-reviewed journals.

Biography:

Tamaz Patarkalashvili was born in April 19,1941 in Tbilisi, Georgia. After school, In 1962 he entered to Agrarian University of Georgia and graduated its full course receiving Bachelor Degree in 1966. After the Institute he worked in the Ministry of Forest as an Engineer. In 1970-1973 he studied at the Post Graduate Courses of the Institute of Forest in Tbilisi. In 1974-1976 he worked as an researcher at the same Institute. In 1979 he defended his thesis and became a Doctor of Foresry. In 1980 - 1991 he worked in the Commission studying Productive forces and Natural Resources of Georgia at the Presidium of Academy of Sciences of Georgia. From 1991 until now he is working at the Technikal University of Georgia, Center Studying Productive forces and Natural Resources of Georgia as a leading Researcher. In 1977-1980 he Studied at the institute of foreign language, English faculty and after graduation became a bachelor of Fine Arts.

Biography:

Prof. Dr. Frederico Barros is an associate professor at Federal University of Vicosa/Brazil. He earned his MS and Ph.D. degrees in Food Science and Technology from Texas A&M University/USA. He has collaborations with universities in Brazil, USA and Italy, and has over 60 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters. Dr. Barros was awarded a Visiting Professor Scholarship (CAPES/Brazil) and joined, in September 2023, the Whistler Center for Carbohydrate Research/Food Science Department at Purdue University/USA for his sabbatical year. Dr. Barros’s research areas are: carbohydrate and health; cereal chemistry and processing; and bioactive compounds in foods.

Biography:

Dr Marika Cordaro graduated in Biology at the University of Messina in 2015. She has completed his PhD in “Applied Biology and Experimental Medicine” at University of Messina, Italy in the year 2017. She is a young researcher in physiology, with particular interest in cell physiology and molecular mechanism underling inflammation. Dr Cordaro, during her research activity, produced about 190 articles that attest a diffuse interest in the field of nutrition and aging disorder-related. She also interests endocrine disruptors and in its role in neurological deficits. Her research is involved in preclinical studies for the discovery of physiological cellular response that could be used as new potential therapeutic targets.
