Biography:
Ushakiran Sisodia is MS, RDN, CDN, Onco Clinical Dietitian. She is currently the Head of Food and Dietetics department of Jaslok Hospital Research Centre. She loves observing human eating habits and their impact on health. She treats lifestyle-related diseases with lifestyle medicine. Academically, she is a Registered Dietician, holding a Masters in Food Science (Gold Medalist). She also holds a Business Management postgraduate diploma from NMIMS. She learned and was educated in Neuro Linguistic Programming of the mind. She has been a co-guide to nutrition students for two decades. She is a pioneer in starting obesity clinics in Nanavati Hospital. She worked as a corona warrior and has been a research associate in ICMR. She has presented multiple papers nationally and internationally; a few to name are lectures on Medical Therapy for Guillain Barre Syndrome (audio visual online in Paris, France), live paper presentations in Dubai 2016, Yokohama Japan 2008, and EFAD Geneva Switzerland 2005.
She has also been awarded Best Practising Dietician A.N. Radha Award in 2005, Kusum Memorial Trust Award for Diabetes in 2022. This year, she presented at Magnus 2023 conference Nutricon Rome, virtually live oral presentation on Innovative Ways to Handle Diabetes. The Indian Dietetic Association presented the Outstanding Practising Dietitian Award A.N. Radha to her for three years. The award is presented to a distinguished health professional who has made outstanding educational efforts in the field of diabetes and has demonstrated significant contributions to the understanding of diabetes education.
