Any substance that affects the function of the heart and blood arteries is referred to as a cardiovascular drug. Drugs that affect the cardiovascular system are some of the most commonly prescribed in medicine. Cardiovascular medicine has come a long way in the previous few decades, allowing entire populations to live longer and have a higher quality of life. Precision medicine is an integrative approach to cardiovascular disease prevention and treatment that takes into account an individual's genetics, lifestyle, and environmental factors as determinants of their cardiovascular health and disease phenotypes.
