Genetics and Molecular Biology
Genetics and molecular biology are a branch of biology that studies how we inherit physical traits and why we are susceptible to certain diseases and disorders by dissecting the molecules that make up life. Genetics is a discipline of biology concerned with the transmission of heritable traits from generation to generation. In genetics, the study of genetic variants is crucial. Molecular biology is a branch of biology that approaches life from the bottom up. This entails looking at the nucleic acids and proteins that are produced in response to genetic instructions. Molecular biology and genetics are inextricably intertwined, with molecular biology offering the tools and technologies to solve genetic problems and control how cells function.
