Allergies

Allergies

When a person reacts to substances in the environment that are normally harmless to most people, they are said to have an allergy. Allergens are compounds that can be found in dust mites, pets, pollen, insects, ticks, moulds, foods, and some drugs. Atopy is a genetic predisposition to allergy illness. When atopic persons are exposed to allergens, their immune systems react, resulting in allergic inflammation. Depending on the allergen and how it enters the body, people will have varied symptoms. Allergic responses can affect multiple sections of the body at once. When allergens are inhaled, histamine is released, causing the nasal lining to produce more mucus and become swollen and inflamed. It makes the nose run and itch, and it might induce violent sneezing. People may experience watering eyes and a sore throat. During an allergic reaction, asthma might be caused. The lining of the lungs' airways expands when an allergen is breathed in, making breathing harder.
