To facilitate the development of new drug candidates, the numerous physiochemical properties of a drug must be identified prior to the production of any pharmaceutical formulation. The process of discovering and developing novel medicinal products entails several processes. The preformulation stage, the formulation stage, the testing stage, and the commercialization stage are the four primary stages of pharmaceutical product development. Certain aspects of the active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), the disease to be treated, the proper route of administration, biological aspects during preclinical and clinical trials, including drug safety and efficacy, as well as intellectual property, all must be considered during the drug discovery and development process.
