Functional genomics is a branch of molecular biology that studies the roles and interactions of genes (and proteins). The vast amounts of data generated by genomic and transcriptome research are used in functional genomics (such as genome sequencing projects and RNA sequencing). Functional genomics focuses on the dynamic features of genomic information, such as gene transcription, translation, gene control, and protein–protein interactions, rather than the static aspects, such as DNA sequence or structures. Functional genomics studies are distinguished by their genome-wide approach to these concerns, which typically employs high-throughput methodologies rather than the more traditional "gene-by-gene" approach. A researcher in this discipline analyses genes or regions on a "genome-wide" scale (all or many genes/regions at once) with the hopes of narrowing down a list of possible genes or regions to investigate further. The purpose of functional genomics is to figure out how the different parts of a biological system interact to produce a specific phenotype. The dynamic expression of gene products in a given context, such as during a developmental stage or during a disease, is the subject of functional genomics.
This is to inform that due to some circumstances beyond the organizer control, “Euro Global Conference on Proteomics, Genomics and Bioinformatics” (Proteomics 2023) during September 18-20, 2023 at Valencia, Spain has been postponed. The updated dates and venue will be displayed shortly.
Your registration can be transferred to the next edition, if you have already confirmed your participation at the event.
