Structural Proteomics

Protein chemistry and current mass spectrometric techniques are used in structural proteomics to solve difficulties like characterisation of protein structures and assemblies and precise determination of protein-protein interactions. The burgeoning domain of structural proteomics (SP) has grown over the last decade, representing a multinational effort aiming at determining the 3D structures of proteins encoded by the genomes of major organisms on a massive scale. SP research has resulted in the creation of novel techniques and automated protein structure determination pipelines all around the world.
